A great loss, he was a huge influence on me growing up and getting into bikes
I was lucky enough to buy two volumes of his collected Ogri strips back in the mid 80’s, which I treasure.

My first ever “Bike” mag was the January 1978 edition. I bought it partly because it had a feature of JJ Burrell of the Stranglers in it amongst other things. If memory serves I think it might have been the one where Ogri gets a lift with Malcolm and they take a “short cut” on a snow covered a frozen canal thinking it was a lane. The inevitable happens. God’s teeth Malcom!
I was given this by a friend and it’s been on my top yoke for a few years now, just in case I lose my other kickstart.

I have the books. Still dig ‘em out and re read ‘em from time to time. Still make me laugh every time !
Ogri was the first thing i read after buying the latest issue of Bike mag.
Over a decade ago I had a girlfriend who was a blonde and was quite well endowed, she had a Hinckley Bonnieville (That she called Bonnie) but had never heard of Ogri. I lent her all the Ogri comic strips and books i had so she could get acquainted with Ogris world. later on she said why don't you call your Mk3 'Mitzi' Then you can ride her and think of me (A blonde with big tits). My Mk3 has been Mitzi ever since...

Many years ago i contacted Paul after reading one of his strips which run a personal such a tone. and i enquired cheekily if it was possible to purchase from him a blown up copy of sketch 248.... "How do you fanny the original artwork " was the response, i nearly fell off my chair.... needless to say i purchased it and it is proudly displayed on my office wall

I must admit to always feeling rather more like Malcom than Ogri... particularly the strip where he worries obsessively about his engine blowing up
