I met Pat at Sandown in Melbourne when he was racing Rod Coleman's Harris-framed TR750 Suzuki. The Japanese did not like the bike because it actually handled. I think they would like to deny it ever existed. I seem to remember that a crash on the IOM finished Pat's racing. He was an excellent racer. I was corresponding with Chip Hennen. I think Pat touched a bank and got chucked up the road, and sustained head injuries. He rode extremely well at Bathurst, which was not an easy circuit.
