I just got a call about a 1973 Commando that has been parked for roughly 25 yrs. Thats all I know! Yikes! And boy does that ever make the mind crazy! I am hoping it had the fuel tank emptied as well as the carbs...and oil in the cylinders...oh boy, so sad if a few precautions were not taken. And so many times the bike is parked and eventually covered with "stuff" in the garage, so at least it is covered! I'll keep you posted as to what I find. One of the things I am excited about is what color tank/side panels. The other day a post of a new purchase showed the blue metal flake, wow, what a great color! Hopefully I'll know more in a few days!

Knowing you are two days post away from Old Britts always helps.
I'm in Lakewood WA.
If you're nearby and need a hand sometime get in touch.

Thanks for the note. I'm north in Bellingham.

Went to see the bike...rust bucket. Does have a steel tank, fuel sat in it for actually 31 years. Guy thinks the tank is worth $400 as is...
Balance of bike is really really poor. It was not inside, exposed to the weather and the rust is deep. Motor seized so who knows what the inside looks like. Very sad shape.

$400 is probably worthwhile. The head is worth a couple hundred, frame maybe worth two; the rest is "free money" as they say...

The guy thinks a rusty tank is worth $400? I hope he's on meds beacuse he is clearly insane.
