What is the oil capacity on these bikes? My bike was throughly wetsumped after 3 months sitting. Drained the sump and 2qts wasn't enough to get it back to the minimum line on my tank.

6 pints (US) or 3 quarts.

Max fill should be about a finger length below the neck of the oil tank.

Thanks. I was afraid of that answer. Oil changes get expensive with high zinc $11 a quart Mobil1 V-twin 20w50. I will not be changing this stuff out any time soon. In-line filters and magnets are cheaper than the oil. Back to the store to pick up another quart of that overpriced stuff.

I use Valvoline VR-1, either 20W-50 or straight 40. good zinc content, not too expensive.

Bit the bullet with the 3 quarts of V-twin Mobil 1 oil. $35 an oil change. With how few miles I put on the bike, it may be in there for life, barring any fuel contamination. Mobil says this stuff has 1750 in zinc, the highest of any non-racing oil. Not sure about the zinc content of 20w50 VR1 because I know they have a street and race version of it. V-Twin Mobil 1 is available at any PepBoys or AutoZone so easy to find.

VR1 has 1400 ppm zinc and 1300 ppm phosphorous, compared to 1750/1600 for the Mobil 1 V-twin. BTW, Mobil 1 Racing 4T is 1300/1200. most new oils are well below 1000 ppm
