You just have the tool to do it: your arms and hands.

I think the one I have is like the PL91 in the 3rd link. No complaints. I could not do it with my hands and that's why I bought the tool years ago. The tube just got pushed back down into the slider when I tried to put it up through the yokes.

I will just use a ratchet strap to compress the fork springs as Piero has recommended to me.

From the axle to the lower yoke.

One less tool to buy.

I have big Ancra ratchet straps with gradual release, which I use to tie down my bikes. The best and only type of ratchet strap I use when compressing forks to haul my bikes.

I don't think there will be any problem. Will take pics.

I just made my own similar the ebay one shown but the OP, used a spare rusty fork top cap.
