P11 cam and distributor chain size.

I'm ordering these chains from Jason The Chainman. He needs to know whether the cam chain and distributor chain are the same size, i.e.width and pitch. I thought they were the same but his question caused me to ask.
Can anyone tell me?

Not on mine, according to the Red Maintenance and Instruction Manual for G85CS, G80CS, P11 Scrambler Motor Cycles.

Camshaft 3/8" x .225" 38 rollers, Magneto 3/8" x 5/32" 42 rollers

Looking in the box that contains the parts that came off my '67, the gears are different widths as are the chains. That is the only confirmation I have. It's a small sample, since I have only resto-modded one '67 P11.

I wasn't sure either. Fortunately those parts along with a rebuilt magneto are boxed up and I can check without having the take the timing cover off.

The chain spec is out of that Red book, but I still wanted to look at the parts, because my P11 was never really entirely there.

BTW, the Red book shows dual points for the P11. The magneto on my P11 only has single points, and if I'm not mistaken the auto advance unit was attached to the tapered shaft of the magneto on the inside of the timing cover and the points in the magneto on the outside. And then there's that one through bolt at the bottom of the magneto mount with the nut on the inside of the timing cavity. What the f were they thinking. I threaded that hole for 1/4 x 20 (maybe larger), and use button head allen bolts for a cover that replaces the magneto. My timing side is setup like a Commando though. I'll shut up now

The cam chain and timing:
G67WZ x 38e and G62.5 x 42e
this works with atlas engines also.
Primary chain case: L85SL x 58 inc con
Rear chain: M106SL x 100 inc con
You may need a half link if required.
