Hi
I have had a Norton now for 2 years and love it. and learning a lot.

But on my last ride I found it revving very hi 3000rpm when stopped at the lights. got her home and took the tank off to see if the cable was jammed, but all looked good. when I start the bike it revs up to 4000rpm straight away.
My question is would it be the Boyer unit doing this??
I pulled the carbs down and cleaned them and all looks good there also.

Its getting too much throttle opening or air leaks and yes part of it could be boyah time plate slipped or voltage so low its little black brain advances fully and then some or all over the place till misfiring. Do note boyah supplied trigger wires are definitely a future trouble spot replace soon as can with upgrades or wait till the mystery strikes and forces ya too but not on your terms and location.

The spark can go haywire, but shouldn't cause revving like this.

This can often be that one cable has pulled out of the throttle cable junction box.
Or a carb body has warped, and one slide is not going back down to the idle position.
Or air leaks, as suggested.
