2nd attempt Jerry Wood #3 running down a 750 Rickman Honda in the 1994 AHRMA F750 race, the Honda had motor, Wood had the skill and my Commando was fighting mad. Drum vs Disc, , The Honda had just won the F750 race in Daytona. Wood loves the way my bikes carburate and run hard and fast.

It’s not expensive to become a VIP member Carl and when you are, posting pictures is SO easy, especially from phone / iPad etc.
The bike evolved from a basic stock bike with a Norris RX cam and ported head, to one with Triumph folks and Buffalo wheels and brakes. This bike had a Web Cam that Henri Web designed for me and had clip ons that Jerry did not like, as Wood was used to the original bike's set up. As You may know Jerry ran the Penquin school at NHIS. Jerry always saved his best for last as he did not want to school others on his lines, until he made his move and let the Commando show it's muscle. It was a knock out blow.
Wood also won A USCRA Open Class Championship making it 4 in a row, and also the one off race , a FIM #1 plate in the In the class, he just out motored the field and raced some big bikes with dual discs and I think some had much larger engines.
The bikes were ugly duckling as far as a race bike goes, But the riders made them swans . The USCRA boys were one heck of a wrecking crew and took no prisoners.
OK, I did check and called Jerry, The FIM #1 plate was for Super Heavy Weight Vintage, So there were bikes with big engines and brakes . Funny a little 750 cc Commando beat the heavy weight fighters. It was a big race and taking on those other superbikes, was an amazing show of skill by Wood. The year war Y2K ( 2000) . Norton the Commando called it Super Plus for a reason.
