Figured out how to post a pic of my bike.

This is what it was looking like last summer. I'm changing a lot of things right now. New paint job for one. Will post more pics when it's all together, by spring I hope.

New paint job! NOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo........

Tell me it's like the old paint job only new.

I love that paint scheme, it killed me when I had to strip my Roadster tank that had than on it.

I planed on doing the same paint scheme but i'm going with something new. My version of british racing green done with house of kolor paint. I hope it comes out like I have in mind if the guy ever starts painting it. I'm 27 and alot of older guys at work and around town tell me I shouldn't touch it but I gotta make it my own. I do like JPN scheme though.

Try to preserve that original paint! Here's an idea... swap the tank and sidecovers with some who has a good condition set in "real" need of paint. You both will be happy and an original JPS tank and covers will remain preserved.

To late. paint is already sanded and some parts are primmered. Down the road if I want it back to stock I'll re paint it stock. Everything I'm doing besides the paint can be changed back pretty eassy. I am keepnig all the stock parts.

Young Man , Theres SEVEN ' Real ' Dulux ( British ) British Raceing Greens . :D The darkest being near a green tinted black . I used the second darkest .(or was it Third ) Genuine Dulux Lacquers .
Scuse trowing the picture on . This was the sun coming up over the ocean over the shoulder , straight after the first time I ran it after a year or twos monkeying.Still a piece or two to fit .

Genuine DULUX B.R.G. , Hadnt hit the road , yet .Another ' chap ' prefers ' Cotswald Green ' , a sorta metallic dark forest green . Kinda phycadelic 70s Norton ish, on his BSA . worth a look .Such is Life.
Some of the White ones were painted over RUST . and it fell off. Worth getting it hot tanked at your local engine builders, if they dont drop anything on it . Or paint stripping and wire wooling .But the
ETCHED surface is worth the effort of tank dipping , if not to ' hot ' , ( will warp, Thin ).So the insides all spiffing too .

Well the Corbin seat was a deviation anyway. They do look nice when everythings shiny new.

Odd that the rear rim lock is so close to the valve stem.

Look forward to seeing pics of the "new look"!

My first was a 74 MK2A identical to yours, with the JPN that was a little spider-ed on the tank. It had super patina, ever so slightly off white. It was ripped from my possession due to addiction, and not the good kind that I have now with my current 72. You may sense that it still hurts a bit.

But that ok. A little bit of a heart breaker but I can definitely agree with the "It's my bike, I do what I want!" way of thinking. I just have a feeling that you didn't know what you had there. There's not many original JPN schemes left. Even if a little scruffy, it is very desirable.

I too look forward to seeing your outcome. It better be good. Just kidding, I'm sure it will be as beautiful as it appears in the photo.

I for one want to thank you for showing it, even if it is as it was. Does that make sense?

I did a bit of research and I really planed on keeping the original paint because you don't see many like it. But I change my mind so much on what I want to do with the bike i just decided on green and bought the paint so it was done. But the bike will mostly be stock. Just not as much in apperance.

No one is going to fault you for that. It's just paint.

I felt guilty enough not keeping the original paint on my tank and side covers =========>>

And they were toast!

Figured out how to post a pic of my bike.

But I gotta admit I like the idea of green!

Always liked the JP color scheme, but that green looks sweet! Glad you made it your own.

PS. There are plenty of museum pieces out there with JP paint jobs.
