Old Brits tail light

Gents,

I want to buy one of the alloy Old Brits tail light assemblies, the type that uses the old style Lucas lens. I've emailed Old Brits but not herd anything back. Are they still trading? Can I buy these elsewhere?

I'm a bit more patient than that CJ! I emailed them on the 22nd Jan. So was just wondering if I should look elsewhere, or just be a little more patient...

Okie Dokie Eddie sorry about that, I wasn't trying to implie anything, I've bought from Fred & Ella many times and called with questions before all with great results, just not lately. Soooo, I guess I can't really say about today......I'd been interested in one of their tail lights before (a couple of years ago) and I seem to remember that they re-worked the castings to fit better on our bikes (rear frame loop/fender junction), so it might be worth while to check back or try again later.

I too placed an order back in December and never heard back from them ( I forgot all about it ).
There was a message about them taking the holidays off but it's almost 2 months later.

They are definitely around.
I ordered some parts via the web site on Tuesday, and they were in my mailbox on Friday.
Ella even included the part whose number I could not find on the site.
I believe they still take Friday thru Sunday off.

I have used Old Britts for years and only once did not receive parts within one week. I had e-mailed the order and my e-mail had not been received, after calling Ella I had the parts in two days! (Across country). they are top-notch.

I ordered some parts before the holidays & didn't get a follow-up as I normally did. I followed up with an email a couple of weeks ago. Ella called & said they had computer issues that lost some orders. She took my order & sent it with no charge for shipping. I'd advise giving a call.

All is good, spoke to Ella over the phone and one is on its way to me.

I can't wait as the more I look at the big, ugly, square, stock job, the more I hate it !!

Pictures!!! Need to see what it looks like from your perspective once you have it in hand. I've a few buck burning an 'ole in me pocket, and would greatly love to "down-size" her back end.

Ok, I'll come clean guv, I may have been a bit harsh on the stock set up! I think that in real stock form, ie, with everything else around it is stock form, it looks fine. But the more 'stripped down' the bike is, the more the stock tail light seems to stick out. Mines quite minimalist, so it really does stick out 'like a sore thumb' !

Will show some pics when I get underway.

The Old Brits light does look really good imo. I also have the big ole square lookin thing. Don't like it much. If I had the cash, I'd call Fred today. Post some pics when you've got it mounted.

I recently got some stuff from them, but I think they are having web problems. One item I ordered (actually the first thing I ordered, and asked for combined shipping with several others) was missed, but Ella apologized and shipped it for free.

The Old Brits tail light arrived a while ago guys, very nice it is too. I got around to fitting it today, its far better than the stock job, especially for the 'minimalist look' doncha think:
