I have a 1972 Norton Commando. I need a little help on the oil line hookup for tank to the motor, breather and chain lube. There is an inline filter inside the tank, no external cartrage filter.

I have never heard of nor seem one of these.

I expect he means the banjo strainer gauze.

You need to look harder.

Oil Tank

For curiosity, if your using an external filter, do you really need that mesh tank filter?

If you take the oil cap off you run the risk of the odd leaf getting in plus a seized engine may send crap up the breather pipe. Its not going to do any harm left there anyway.

Mmmm... good points Kommando, now thinking about it abit more, sump pickups in cars tractors etc have this mesh aswell.
