There is an outlet at the rear of my 65 Norton Atlas oil tank that I am trying to figure out where it goes. To the inlet on the chain guard?

Would anyone here know?

Thank you in advance

Here are a few pictures of the rearward facing outlet and destinations for the oil tank on my 650SS. I have the "Tower" type oil tank, which may well be the same type as you have. There was also an earlier "non tower" type with a narrower gauge outlet located towards the top rear of the tank.

Mine is routed to a three way brass connector. One leg goes to an aftermarket breather. The other to the top front of the chain guard.

Some people will no doubt think the breather is a bit of overkill, but it does not cause any problems. I believe routing to top of chain guard is quite common. Some say it causes an oily mess on the chain and use a catch can of some form or other. I also use a New York Norton sump reed breather which among other things helps reduce excess pressure back to the oil tank so I do not have excessive oil drip to the chain guard
