I still owe you some photos of the side covers. I guess I should do that today if the sun ever comes up.

Russ

No hurry with those pictures btw, I don't even have the tank back yet.

Cool. Just let it run until it's clean. Don't tell me you watch the Red Green show?

I can't say I tune in regularly, but I do know "keep your stick on the ice"

I'm off on a hockey road trip as it is right now and my rotisserie is spinning while I'm gone. I'll check it tomorrow morning when I get home.

Well, after letting it run for quite a while, I ended up with a pretty clean tank. It's not perfect though, so I'll try it some more. If I can't get it all clean I'll try a radiator shop. They should have a hot bath dip which should clean it out completely like Russ said.

Most machine shops also have a hot tank.

I "hot tanked" some aluminum engines and components once by digging a shallow hole in the ground, lining the perimeter with bricks, and setting a 55 gallon drum on top. I put my engine block and sump in the barrel, filled it with water and some pink stuff I got from Granger's. Built a fire in the hole and cooked the stuff. It all came out spotless. I was very pleased.

I did my roadster tank in a cement mixer. Abot 30 RPM I guess. Seemed to work OK.

Russ
Cool, hadn't thought about that, but I don't have one. There must be something else out there that will work.

How about a dryer set on cool air dry, pack tank in old comforter, ( then bag if using liquids ), more pack in dryer, place tank in center then pack more comforters, hit start and presto.................. ( just don't tell the wife ) 8)
