oil pump feed washer ?

Does anyone know which conical washer (feed bush sealing washer) to use on a 74 Mk 2a. I have two a large one and a small one? The one I was replacing is in such a state it is hard to tell.

Also when I took the timing cover off the intermediate gear shaft came out. I have replaced it and all seems well but is this an issue?

(I am a non engineer trying to learn a bike that is almost as old as I am so please keep it simple, thanks for any advice in advance.) :?

If you know what part numbers they are then the one you DON'T want is 06-6190. The differance would have to do with the MKIII timing cover with the built in anti sump valve which takes 06-6190. You want the other.

i am affraid this info could either help or confuse.

The Mark III seal is thinner than the other. It has a small taper then flattens out, whereas the other has kind of a dome. Mikeb on this forum

MNT272 in parts book is for 750's. I can't find # for mk3 but any vendor worth their salt will supply correct -feed bush sealing washer-.
Do note the TS cover gasket plus the crushed to a film gasket under oil pump are part of the sealing washer clearance fit.
They can be reused but better have a hand full on hand to renew each cover removal.

This always happens on mine when removing the timing cover. Best to at least check the alignment marks for pinion gear on the crankshaft to intermediate gear and 10 chain links between alignment marks of intermediate sprocket and cam sprocket.

Yes, but may require another topic. Search in the Service notes. In short, a cut out sacrificial timing cover should be used to adjust the timing chain (which also is used as a support tool to remove the cam nut).
