Hi, Have just aquired 25 litres of Morris golden film SAE40 oil from a friend of mine, can anyone tell me if this is suitable for
my 850 interstate ,I have been using Silkolene Chatsworth 40 up till now, and was wondering if I could just change over especially as I got it for free. Brian

If its got SF or SG zinc level ratting then sure. Best to contact Morris and ask. 40 grade should be fine unless in hi heat desert dry air conditions. hobot

Hi hobot ,on the website that LAB posted i can only see SD in the spec, would this mean it is not suitable Brian

When you put it like that LAB yes, no problem with silkolene and as its the same spec from what i can see, will start using the Morris SAE40 Thanks again Brian

I don't need to start ANOTHER oil thread but I just bought some Castrol 4 stroke motorcycle oil. It was only like $0.40 more so not a lot more expensive. Question is, is there anything to it or did I just fall for the hype?

I use Silkolene Chatsworth 40 and it's a good oil. I don't know the code that LAB quoted, but you should use the version that has detergent if you have a spin-on oil filter and non-detergent if you don't.
