Very nice.

Or even remake a flange and attach it, its not rocket science.
It was in there, almost didn't see it, looks durned thin.
Got to admit, I am no welder, but I think finding the right one to do this job might be tricky, thin metal, snapped off right on the 'radius' of the flange.

Anyone know a decent welder in the Roanoke VA/ Greensboro NC corridor?

If you want to keep the original pipe, as Rohan said it would be easy for anyone with assess to a lathe to turn another "top hat" type flange for you to get welded on. It seems that you have either been unlucky, or you had a pattern pipe fitted.

Thanks for the info, I found a guy who knows a guy..... anyway, dropped it off today and he's going to see what he can do with it this weekend - hate leaving it like that, but you don't know until you try, and the guy has a decent rep. as a welder.
Here's hopeing

Well, he tried to weld it - said it was like trying to weld a soup can - so he swaged the end instead, did a nice job and its only about 1/4" shorter than it used to be. Going to endeavor to get it back on the bike this weekend.
Thanks all for the replies and suggestions
