Offset handlebar risers

Anyone using a handlebar offset riser. I have an issue where it would help me with clearance between my hands to my fairing, and it might allow me a better sitting posture. I wonder if anyone has used one here and if there are any disadvantages to using them. Here's a picture or two below.

Thanks for the replies. After a good night's sleep I wrapped my head around the offset and came to realize that I can reposition the bars without any effect on my steering other than my hands are in a slightly different place... I suppose I always imagine the worst result before I think about it...
