Dual Amals
The two inboard carb flange bolts...how far apart are they center to center? After years of battling the carbs on and off I use button head allens instead of the studs in the manifolds and using a T-handle ball driver cut and welded to the proper length, the carbs are now easier to R&R. To make it even easier I want to cut a piece of 5/16" stock, drill and tap it 5/16 - 18 twice...one dual nut, two carburetors. If I make it tall I can hold it (barely) with my fingers and thread in the bolts.
I used to do this job by removing the manifolds with the carbs but this will be easier.

JUST tight enough (with a dab of Loctite)

I have been using SHCS's since the first time I had to remove the carbs .... about 50 years ago. Never had an air leak.

Yeah I replaced those studs with regular Allen's a long time ago. I have a long wrench that goes right in there. Much easier.

Good to see that I'm not the only one.
