Anyone know exactly? I want to make/order a brake flare type ring spanner to tweak them as none of my open ended spanners can get to that nut, and of course the wiring precludes using a 'normal' ring spanner...

Thanks in advance but I'm not looking for alternative methods/solutions, I just want a tool that keeps a simple job just that.... simple!!

Perhaps a tubing wrench?

9/16" AF.

Or, just unscrew the bulb holder, disconnect and pull out the wire, tighten the 9/16" AF nut using an ordinary ring spanner, replace the wire and bulb holder.

I use a drop of wicking loctite. Does this compromise the ground path? Don't know because I run separate ground wire out on all the indicators.

Timely thread as I'm about to open mine up to snug up that nut. Incidentally, if anyone has the same embrittled plastic lamp housings as on my '74, where the lens screw mounts just crumble away when fitting lenses, a decent fix up is to build up around the mounting points with thickened epoxy (I used "Metal Weld" stick-type, just knead it to uniform colour and you can shape it anyway needed). Then drill into the hardened epoxy and just run your mount screws straight into the holes, they will make a nice strong thread.
