I needed one for my 68 BSA once, I put a search in eBay so that whenever one came up they would notify me. It took a couple months to find one that I really wanted but eventually a very clean possibly unused original one came up and I got it for a very reasonable price.
If you have an original one not working, there is a guy in Tennessee that rebuilds them with new bronze bearings he makes on a small lathe..I sent him parts from 5 and he made me 4 nice ones..I have run 3 of them on my bikes and they work great..I guess the other alternative is to run one that looks good and hook amp gauge wires together bypassing it...
