That wouldn't happen to be what I think it is poking out the back of the head?

Nissin?

Yes more details please!! :D

Steve

Just spotted it and threw it on , changed the heading from ' TRITON ' . :?

Just came up under ' Wartburg Norton ' no Wartborgs but plenty of others . Just traces to a photo site , No details , sorry .
Yea - does look like ' forced induction ' . Tried a BSA Oil Tube for a Pre Unit Triumph bonnie look alike once - lengthened cradle 1 5/8
9 or should have  1 3/8 was a bit tight . For the Triumph . But Id think the Norton would go near straight in .
the BSA Oil tube has a rear mount for the A65 , which is the same width as ' our ' engine plates - so fairly simple .
These things are fairly substantial - so chassis flex should be conspicuous by its absence .

Norumph .

you can just see the upper mounts , behind the seat post above , and lowers below . Or VcV . :x

presumeably his is A65 as looks like its the ' high seat ' type . Later Tri's had lower seat rail & shocks . for 1973 on .

Now Thats a Cunning Idea . S. C. drive from Magneto drive presumeably . good enough for the electro Tri 750 , tho gives me the horrors there . electric start thru the Timimng pinnions & Keyways . Do they ever f*^# out ? ? ? looks like the primary Chaincase rear is BSA , A10 ? based . cut & weld job . Motor & Box closer than a Commando , wonder if a P11 case'd do . :?

Norumph .

You can see he has modded the rear subfame (Sic. ) at the top to angle fwd. the shocks , also lower dual mounts , for longer axle travel ?? as well as Yam style brace , seat post to rear side up rails . so mayve done a few other things too .
Looks to be Triumph Frame , rear mounts dont appear to match the A65 pictures I flogged & posted . :?

Not sure what this
Norumph .
is doing there , obviously a man of refined tastes and discernment . :D

What year frame is that ?

Anybody got any clues on the silver tank on the "Normph"... I have one almost identical by sight that came with my basket case...

Is it an aftermarket/acccessory tank or something that some of you wise ol'owls recognise... Does it have a name or purpose being that shape and small size (capacity) ????

Looks like a stock Hi rider tank to me. Same as the one on my bike.

What treatment have you done on the primary cover? Is that a modified A 10 primary. Looks elegant.

Yes its a A10 case with a commando alternator bump welded on.

That looks like the frame from a 1963 unit construction Triumph 650. Thanks for that, I've got most of a spare 850 motor as well as a spare 4 speed CR box. I've never thought of using that frame. When that Triumph came out they handled as good as a featherbed Norton. It looks like it would be a really great bike. How much oil does the Triumph 'oil in frame' hold ?

Have read the later ( 72 ) A65 frames had the lower seat rails too .

Oil Qty is sfa , but with a cooler & filter it'd bring it up . Filler at the front'd do something to .
Maybe Unbaffled all the oil'd go on your feet . :D may need a seperate breather volume set up ? .

ANYWAY , the REAR mounts on a BSA Twin match the pre unit / Commando engine plate widths ;
though you could always throw them into a Triumph one - the inner rear mounts .

a P11 Chaincase'd get the shafts closer / lasrger gaps at theextremities . Maybe . :?
