Norton with hurricane body kit.

Just back from the Bristol bike show and on the Norton club stand a Commando with a Hurricane body kit it looked great(well i think so) what do you all think????

There's a member of the local British bike club that has a Commando with that bodywork (and a Drouin!). It is different, but I believe it is hard to beat the original lines of the Commando tank and side covers.

Hope this is better but pic not that good as taken with phone and lots of bright lights.The Bristol branch did an excellent job of their stand, just out of shot were two lovelys perched on two Commando's as per the 70's....should have got a shot of them but the bikes are the stars!!???

A Hurricane tank with clearance for the Commando top tube ? It might be a good idea to look out for a set of 'Long Range' float bowls if there is any intention to get beyond the garden gate

Isnt there a fiber glass out fit in the UK that makes 'FLAT TRACK' style body work

The bristol Branch always seem to put on a good display at the show, I think they win best club stand regularly.
As for the period lovely's it would have been nice to make a comparison with the originals (for scientific purposes only of course) :lol: :lol:

I recall that SRM Engineering, the BSA specialists, were making Hurricane look-alike kits for BSA and Triumph twins. If these were designed to also fit the oil-in-frame bikes there would be little difficulty in fitting one to a Commando. I seem to remember that these kits had a larger capacity than the original Hurricane set up.

I'm fairly sure that's what it is, as the 'tanks' of the OIF twin cylinder 'Hurricane' body kits were visibly deeper than the original X75 bodywork.

I think it looks awesome... if I had seen these earlier I might've gone that route instead of new paint/seat depending on the price of the kit.
