Hello Richard , Can you have your Dad ask them when we might get maps to maximize the HP ?

Superb yes , I was also at the factory today and had the good fortune to meet Dave,he seemed rather chuffed with a few bits & pieces collected today ,& am very much looking forward to meeting him again next month along with Richard & other 961" er,s my bike was having the once over by team Norton b4 my trip next week, bike goes air freight tomorrow , a factory visit is "must " for any owner , all at Norton are passionate about their brand ,cheers Richard

Richard, if this is too personal, don't reply, but, has your dad been able to introduce any of his upgraded components, tools, ideas with a good reception?

They know about them and there have been discussions.

My dad was expecting to take the aluminum tank home with him but Norton thought customs may give him a problem with a fuel tank on a plane -- even tho it has never had fuel in it. So they shipped it out. If it all works out the tank and mufflers will meet him at home on Tuesday.

Side note - I put the red fuel tank from my dads parts bike on my SE yesterday. I think it looks cool but majority at my work and neighbors like it better all black. I'll post a pic later. PS -- regardless of what the cops and insurance say about red vehicles , the red tank did not make my bike any faster.. :(

Are you sure you mounted it correctly, on Ducati forums they always report at least 5mph more for red

Because my dad purchased the red SF for a parts bike to repair the SE. He needed a tank so went for the alloy. Its going to look awesome. Hopefully done in a month.

I think that Richard's dad will have two 961's when all is said and done. Last year his bike was crashed , with lots of cosmetic damage and I hope no bent steel. It must be more cost effective getting a second bike , than buying all the parts separately ? Maybe the red one will end up being their hot rod !

Exactly correct Tony.

Buying a slightly used 2013 with all the same parts except dual seat and tank color. Then buying a tank and tail section was the same cost as buying just the parts needed. So the bonus is a second bike that has some damaged but refurbished parts. PS nothing bent.
