I'm a Norton novice and need a local mechanic to evaluate and freshen-up my 850 Roadster that had been sitting for 20 years when I bought it.
I'd prefer a small shop rather than a "cycle city" place. Any recommendations? Thanks for any suggestions.

Michael,
There is a guy who posts to another list who lives in, I think, Williamsburg, Va. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/INOALIST/
His e-mail is
nortonwizard@yahoo.com
I've never met the man and his posts seem to indicate that he may be a curmudgeon but he has a lot of experience with Norton and Brit Bikes. I'm sure he knows all the shops in your area and may even recommend one. His posts are wandering, opinionated, and a pleasure to read.

Skip,
Many thanks for the tip. I will contact him and see what the story is. If in Williamsburg, that would be very convenient.

Michael,
Great! He seems to be a character and he has a wealth of experience.
I got in touch with him to let him know I had passed on his e-mail and he was not aware of this forum. I passed on the link. If we are lucky he might post here.
