Norton Seats

Has anyone out there experienced any fitment issues with a factory seat? I just bought a brand new seat from a very reputable dealer here in CA along with all of the hinge parts, lock, etc. As I went to fit the seat, the bracket on the right that attaches to the hinge was about 1/2 inch out of alignment for the 4 attaching screws. The whole seat just didnt even seem to fit right on the the frame rails without having to bend and ajust the catch on the right side and the hinge plate on the left. Thanks for any help you can give.
