norton mk3 left hand side cover

hi all
once you take the plastic air box out
you are left with no way of securing the top of the left hand side cover
what have you blokes been doing to secure .

On my mk3 I have a homemade bracket with a nut welded underneath to secure the side cover with a bolt, you really do not want to use the standard Dzus fastener to retain the side cover.
The bracket looks pretty much the same as this.

Side panel bracket

Hi. I have a Commando Roadster mk2a 1975 and the left hand side panel is hinged from a bracket that is bolted next to the air box. Please see picture below. Can anyone tell me if this is a standard way of fitting the panel or is it a made up effort by some previous owner. Thanks Neil.

I have the same. Nice and secure.

I bought stainless piece from from Norvil for my MK 3 but it wasn’t close to fitting. I was able to straighten it and bend it to work after a lot of work. They claimed it was a bad batch and apologetic but no refund was offered. I’m the end I should have simply bought a flat stainless bar and fabricated my own.
