Norton invite

The mixed heritage is interesting, maybe an announcement of the worst kept secret - there is just not the skill base in the UK to build the bikes they need, so production will be done abroad.

Building bikes abroad isn’t really ‘innovation’ tho is it?

Maybe a supercharged bike ?

Or a naked V4 ??

Or a new Commando ???

Or a collaboration with cNw to rebuild old Commandos in the factory??

Or... an electric bike... ???

Waddya mean ‘dream on Eddie’...!?

That's backing a lot of Horses ;)

Suggest its the 650 production release.

Cashflow is King.

Oh I’m not backing any of those. I’ll eat my hat if it’s any of them!

And as you say ‘cash flow is king’... so I do hope that whatever innovative solutions are announced, they are about the bikes and not fund raising!

Let's hope it's for something other than the Indian-made 650, which sounds boring as an Enfield.

What have you been reading? See other thread for first ever test, it’s far from boring.

Anyone actually thinking of going ?
Sounds a blast!

Riding a bike on unlit roads, weather forecast to be s**te and cold plus it’s bonfire night so the tin box dwellers are distracted by the lovely displays, not to mention work...
Wrong time and date for Joe Public - who is it aimed at?

Well, I read this:

I saw it up close today. It’s ‘OK’. Not my cup of tea though. It’s not in the same league as other higher end retros, but then, neither is the price.

And I read this:

fuel injection, 6 speed 46BHP, not a lot but comparable to older brit twins.

Sounds boring on both counts. Perhaps you recognize the first quote?

Danno, what are you reading?

As far as I know there has only been one road test, and that was in the Motor Cycle News.

Norton are claiming 84bhp. MCN estimate 75bhp at the rear wheel. Whichever way you cut it, it’s a lot more than 46!

They wouldn’t have said this if it had 46bhp:

“It’s geared for around 135mph on the limiter in 6th, but what matters is sub-90mph performance, and it happily charges up to the thick end of that with as much aggression as anyone really needs on the road“.

Read the test here:
