There was a TV series back in the 80's I think where a judge was going after bad guys who got off on a technicality he rode a Norton Interstate. I think it was called Dark Justice?

I had never seen it before.
Only a few shots of the bike.
Pretty Cool.

I just saw a Commando in some crappy tv commercial the other day, but I kept watching to get a better view of the bike and didn't pay attention to the product being pimped.

If you look at the beginning of the movie Easy Rider "Billy" pulls up on a Norton P-11 Scrambler.

there was a Commando in the Brit TV series Monarch of the Glen 12 years or so back, but only in a couple of episodes, owned by a love interest older guy.

I believe "The Worlds Fastest Indian" had loads of British bikes you'd all enjoy. References to a lot of motorcycling history too. Showing my age a bit but when I was a young lad, I would never miss the weekly TV series "Then Came Bronson" about a guy travelling the US on a Sportster (sorry, not a Norton). Of course there was Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin in "The Wild One" (Brando on a Triumph). Lots of these old movies featured British bikes (usually Triumphs, but occasionally Nortons, Vincents, Broughs etc.), not always in a starring role, if you look carefully , they're there. It'd be a treat to have a brew and watch some of these with a few of you folks. Of course if we talked politics or religion we'd probably have a brawl too.

Dismounts and puts the prop stand down with his hand. Classic.

Sometimes at lights in traffic on hot day, I got to reach down and put the darn Commando into neutral !!!!! the side stand usually gets awkwardly deployed with my left foot

Craig,
"Hand shifting" has been an unexpected perk of riding my commando as well. Certainly NOT built for NYC/NJ stop and go.

That's interesting.
The only times I have that problem is if the clutch is out of adjustment.
Do you think it's from the heat?
I haven't experienced that down here in Florida.
She might idle rough if she gets really hot like in heavy stop and go.
What gear lube are you using?
I'm using 90 wt full syn. Gl 5 compatible.
Could different gear lubes be different in respect to heating up?

I personally would have kept the P11 over some pos pan head.
There were 2 of each ex-police Pan. 2 were trashed for the end of the movie and the other two were stolen. Lot's of repro's out there.
