Hi. I'm working on a project and want to use an early Commando 2LS front brake. The brake itself is readily available but I cannot find information, anywhere, as to the availability of either a new or used hub. Are these things rare or I am looking in the wrong places? Thanks for your help.

Cheers

Russell

not available new, but often available used on Ebay, Atlas will fit also, only a different thread in the bearing retaining ring.

I may be wrong, but I think when the fork yokes were widened in 64 there was no change to the hub or brake plate, the change was made to the bottom of the fork sliders, with the bosses widened by the required amount. This also means you have to be careful to match sliders and yokes from the correct period.

Hi Russell,

I have a front hub/brake drum laying on the floor in my garage. Where on the planet are you?

Hi David

Not too close, I'm afraid. I live just outside Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, in the UK.

You're right, definitely nothing available new, but I can't find anything used either. At least not in the UK.
