This should be an easy one for you Norton experts! I have some norton forks on a seeley frame. The sliders have an alloy screwed top which I need to remove to dismantle the forks and change seals etc. I presume I need a C spanner. Where can I get one? Thanks

There are a lot of aftermarket fork caps out there, so hard to say which ones you have to get the appropriate wrench. You could try a plumber's strap wrench if they've not been tightened much.

But certainly the easiest way is to remove the fork/slider from the yokes and put the cap in a soft-jawed vise. Use the wheel spindle as your T-handle.

If meanly stuck on as determined by the first few just short of scoring the Al fitting no results > don't forget about your ole torque easing friendly flame thrower. I've broke rubber belt clamps and rag wraps with vise grips so only thing that worked, after flamming was huge channel lock "water pump pliers" with a very tough thick piece of leather wrap and feet and legs braced on bike itself to take the torque and not spin me or the bike around uselessly. That was with the easy to remove thermal difference steel threaded ring in Al though - not Al on Al galling chemical matting to one another. Sometimes fasteners must be sacrificed in the end.

"C" spanner , Modify a G clamp, drill two hole's and loctite a couple of correct size dowls , You have a none-slip wrench that fits any size.
