Okay, it's not perfect, there are lots of strange little bits on nortons that are not found on Triumphs & BSAs; I have yet to categorize them where the spreadsheet isn't 2 pages long!

I filled in "base" values for a decent, complete, running Norton, you can do some math by copying and pasting the values into an additional column, then applying a percentage to an equation that multiplies each line, to arrive at a higher value for a better bike, or a much lower percentage for a basket case, etc.

Anywhay, this also helps me to prioritize and plan the builds, organize the bits as I dig through boxes, bins and shelves, etc...

Just curious GrandPaul, the prices on reworked parts, powdercoated frame, polished z-plates, etc. Are those purchase price including re-work cost?

For instance, a solid color basecoat/clearcoat paint job on a tank and side covers cost me $300-400 not including the purchase price. The "average" price of a steel roadster tank is $300-400 and then it needs to be stripped before painting ($60) and internally sealed ($40). Steel sidecovers are about $150. So to purchase and prep the tank and side covers could cost $900 or more. Is that about in line with what you see?

Grandpaul, that's an excellent price on pistons and valves where did you get these from? The ones I have seen from the UK are over double that price.

Well, on the pistons, I inserted my reseller cost. As the rest of the list is basically full retail, you SHOULD double that figure!

Also, I think the $100 cranks would sell like hotcakes if I had a stack of em...

Like I said, adjust to fit your reality.

Also, you can always use your actual cost on the parts if, as I did on this last one, you built the bike from a basket cases with various parts bought off forum friends, e-bay, swap meets, resellers, etc. Then you'd have your total at the end.

Sorry Grandpaul, I didn't understand the reply about the pistons - as they say "two countries separated by the same language". Do you buy pistons for $200 and then sell the old ones on E-bay for $100 to get your actual project cost of $100? Additionally what does "full retain" mean?

Typo = 'retain' should read "retail".

Yes, my cost for a new set of plain JCC pistons & rings is around $100 when ordered in volume other parts. Again, lots of these numbers are rounded.

I don't sell pistons with chipped crowns and broken skirts on e-bay!
