Im new here and have a question about a norton engine I picked up with a bunch of parts. The engine is a twin, ii has a factory looking tag riveted to the case under the jug that reads ( husqvarna - sweden ) im famalier with huskys, Im a vintage mx nut, but that tag on a norton has me stumped, I hope someone here can shed some light on this engine and let me know what I have.

Presumably this is a parallel twin engine and not a V twin although Norton did make some V twin engines.
Are there any other markings or numbers, or anything else that might give a clue to its its age, what cc it is, or what purpose it was originally used for?
Does it have any primary drive or gearbox components attached to it.

Is there any chance you can post a photo or two?

Its a parallel twin, the trans is a seperate unit, it looks to be 50s or 60s model, I cant get pictures until next week when I get to my storage and get it, I think its a 500cc but not sure, Im not Norton saavy, any clues as to why its tagged Husqvarna,
I had a knowledgable brit bike guy tell me he thinks its a factory race engine, He wasnt 100% sure though, any way that might be correct?

Factory Husqvarna, or factory norton ??

Until we see pics of it, that can only be pure guesswork here.
And even then suggestions it may be 'factory' may still be pure guesswork....

I don't recall ever hearing anything about a Norton-Husqvarna connection, although that doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't one, but photos might at least prove useful in identifying the engine type.
