Viking Lamelar Bags , Blood Brothers saddle bag brackets and two trips to the hardware store . Its easy , anybody can do this.

I was eying those blood brothers brakets since the day I got my bike. glad to know it worked. I actually forgot about them. Thanks for sharing Tony.

Awesome! Now all you need is a full fairing with a six speaker stereo, GPS, heated seats, grips, trunk and a big ole American and British flag flying off the stern. Seriously though, good job. I may consider the same. Makes a long day trip easier. Wondering if I'll have clearance with the long SBN pipes.

It's a Black Widow brand . I found it on the internet paired with a front stand , both fully adjustable. I think I paid $109 . It wouldn't surprise me if you can find it for less than that. It does NOT come with spools . You need to get spools if you don't already have them.

Hello again , I'm not quite finished with this project . The quick release tank Bag seems to be the way to go if like me you don't want luggage scratching your paint. When Richard Pearce was here he showed me his QR tank bag and I was sold... As seen here when expanded to its full 30 L size , you will have enough room . I opted for the OXFORD system . The final step in this project will be the 19T front sprocket . You don't need it , just saying that thrumming along at 90 MPH getting 40 + MPG will be nice... Let's Get Touring !!!

You may want to install some ape hangers and extend your forks so you can see over that tank bag.

Hello Britfan60 , HaHa , Please remember that is at full expansion 30L . And if you saw me on the bike you would see plenty of clearance. And I am only 5' 8" tall. You must admit I am getting close to having a good touring 961 ? What do you think of the QR feature ?

QR tank bags r great, but when u refill for fuel u have to be careful where u place it,mine has a retaining safety strap around headstock,I left it dangling a few times whilst refuelling, caught the hot down pipes a few times , also bent indicator a touch, but still very practical to use,can we have a close up of the fixing of paniers to the rails please ? , cheers Richard

Hi Richard , This one does also , but I don't intend on strapping it. It kind of defeats the QR feature. This was designed for safety when you drop the bike or don't attach it correctly. It will then go flying down the road.. But that is up to the user and I will not use the straps. Look for the images soon...

Conduit clamps are 1/2 inch with 1/4 inch dia. bolt holes . Bolts are 1 inch long , I am using nyloc nuts and all hardware is stainless steel. With your dual seat model and those nice under seat attachment points you're golden ... Lets get going !

Protect those expensive shocks from rain and road grit ! I found these covers on line for a real good price. Almost done..

Here is my latest project for touring . I may start a new thread so it is easier to find . We discussed my legs cramping up on the long runs when I was at Cootes. And the highway pegs seem to be the best solution for it.

Although you are turning your bike into just about everything it was never meant to be, all us old codgers with bad joints praise you.

Yet another upgrade . I added stabilizing straps to the Saddle Bag frames. Have a look :

With the Norton welding and fabrication shop , they could make top notch saddle bag frames. I wish they would so I didn't have to piece meal everything !
