I was parked up having a cup of coffee watching the ferry coming in to dock, on the chat with I guy who was telling me about his new 1250 Bandit and the sad demise of his previous 600.

My 750 hopper was parked nearby ,it only has Norton transfers on the tank and bare side panels. He then says in all seriousness "is that you bike, 125 is it?" And since it was the only bike ,other than his sitting ,there was no room for misinterpretation.

I am going to take it as a compliment!

I had a 1330cc Egli Voncent that someone once enquired " that's nice, wot is it, a 250cc"?

I've had more than a few comments on the Commando displacement, but usually the other direction. As in, their Commando of memory was always bigger. My favorite was "what size it that?" It's an 850. "My dad had one just like it only it was a thousand". I said, man that's a rare model! Hope he kept it!

Yeah, reminds me of when I was at my mate's car repair shop with my T160 and a lad there told me his dad used to have a 65 Trident. I just said oh right, I can't be bothered with them and just agree with whatever rubbish they speak.

'Ran into the same thing in the car circles; "My dad/brother/cousin/best friend had one of those, but it had the six-pack Hemi in it!"
