Cam oil bath, gosh you just keep listing features I want. Ok cam lobe jets come out just before lifter get loaded and .5mm is about right, thanx. Have you had to provide for more oil drainage paths out of the head?

How did you build up-attach the dam for cam oil bathtub?

I like points too as hit full advance sooner that most sluggish electronic curve to protect road machines lugging out of turns. Custom tested curve is best.

I can rely on the oil in the sump being whipped up by the flywheel to provide good lube to the cam on startup.
One advantage of wet sumping!

Bob.

Yes, but not the first cold galling lobe swipe on first kick. This is when/where the zinc-phosphorous content does its job getting wiped off till oil wedge speed and then does not reform the "surface wear pads" unless almost boiling temps reached in the area running. Sorta like dust covers on V-belts or chain guards, nice and better but not vital.

Yes - the new lifters are more or less open all the time for oildrain of the exhaustside(s) - on the inletside I have an 8mm bore between the valvesprings at deepest point of head to drain the oil.

Just two sheets of aluminium (2mm thick) rounded and bashed to fit, bolted to the cases.

Thatswhy I run points.

I've got the spare to run my factory Trixie Combat for rest of me life. Ms Peel gets gets programable digit unit with 4 curves on tap and 3 hits per ignition, each spark programable too. Do ya think you will have throttle control to take you hot rod up wet grass on race slick tire and take throttle w/o lugging or spinning out, not sure I will but expect too.

Well - on my 850 with rearsets, fairing and clipons I won a crate of beer from my friend as I went up and down a grassy hill behind my house - MX racing surely helps to control a bike in slippery conditions...

I don´t have a clue what the 905 will feel like on the road (or in my Wasp MX outfit) - if it survives all the testruns I will fit it to the blue Norton to see what its like.

hehe I was just backwards teasing ya about low power low speed operation testing. Once ya got some momentum going even soft race slicks work pretty well for off road fun and games. I've got no background in that so its mostly new ground for me to discover what I can and can't not get away with. I'd forgot about your sidecar flinging, completely over my head so far. I'm told there is a fair amount of oil recirculated in a Norton at speed, so maybe just maybe enough to cool pistons w/o extra pumps, maybe.
