no Avon RR so what tyres ru using in the UK

I used Bridgestone tyres for years, they are better than any race tyres we had pre-1970. Some people are very tyre-dependent. If I ride, my brain is glued to the rear tyre contact patch. In the videos about motorcycle handling, it mentions that if you have a problem in a corner 'more lean', is the answer. That is OK if you have tons of grip, and are not on the limit. I do the exact opposite - I get the bike as vertical as possible and trail-brake to lose speed. When I judge that I am going slow enough to get grip, I accelerate to get the bike to self-steer in the correct direction. The rear suspension setting is important. If it is too stiff - when you accelerate , the bike will not turn in the correct direction. The back of the motorcycle needs to go down to steer the motorcycle. Commandos have lay-down suspension units which give more travel, the bike should self-steer quite well.

Always correct pressure and not ridden like a madman.

I have a new AM9 on the back wheel of my Commando. The centre groove is 7.5mm deep. The AM9 that it replaced was worn to its minimums in ~3000m.
 
I bought some TT100's earlier this year. Try Demon Tweeks.

Speaking to Ashley at AN apparently they were moving production to Japan. The 4.10 x19 is still made in France. The ones I received were however still stamped 'Made in France' being manufactured in 2026.

Ive only had my commando since September and not had it on the road. Didnt fancy running the 20 year old tyres so opted for some fresh rubber!

Edit: Only noticed the OP was referring to 18".
 
We expect a shipment of 100x19 universal tires from Heidenau/Germany next week. Having ridden Heidenaus on road and track- though not yet on a Commando- I have no doubt they will work well. Though not widely known it may help as reference they manufacture tires for Metzeler as well as producing a wide range of tires under their own name and have been a manufacturer for decades.
We used Heidenaus as OE on our C652 Nortons.
