I was the only one riding Britiron, but it was a nice ride; 150 miles round trip with a group of 8. I wound my way back & forth through the group getting each rider on the front & rear cameras.
Got to test the cameras to see what happens when you let 'em "run out" (does it get to the capacity of the chip and save the file, or do you lose the whole recording?) I'll find out soon.
The Legend is running great, but traffic & patrols kept us minding the clocks.
Came back to our monthly CMA meeting and another local biker group was having thier meeting at the next table, so we had 16 or 18 bikes out front. Rudy's BBQ gives us a "$5 per family of 4" deal for clubs having thier regular meetings there, with brisket, turkey breast, sausage, corn cobs, tater salad, beans, bread & bottomless soft drinks; can't beat that anywhere.
Had a client come in from Corpus while we were still on our ride, so they had BBQ and then we off-loaded his Triumph 500 Tiger and did a "make-run" from a 20 year sleep. Oil change all around, valve adjustment, new plugs, service clutch & primary chain, overhaul carb, and general once-over.
It fired on the third kick, solid oil return after about 10 seconds. Engine has lousy compression. Next will be fork overhaul in two weeks, then top end job next month. He was unbelievably happy, got me on video doing the test-ride blasting up and down the street. It's got guts for such low compression; no smoke, but it's puking out the breather pipe (yes, I drained the sump). He was able to kick it over on his own within three kicks; the first "real" kick lit it right off; decent tickover, but weak enough to die at idle when hot due to low compression.
Must have drank a gallon and a half of tea today, it was well over 100 before noon, and 50%+ humidity all day. I'm about done
