I'm reading post headings in the motorcycle section. I am plainly reading English but not understanding unless I open the post and read word for word.

The difference in language between metric bikes and English bikes is astounding. I know how motorcycles work but really there are so many differences. Am I just plain crazy or does anyone else experience this?

The undertaking of this Norton basket project is truly starting over in many ways for me.

You'll get used to it pretty quickly. Some of us in the US have been involved with British bike since we were kids 40 years ago as well as we have a number of real British and colonials on the board. Do yourself a favor and Google whitworth and most of the rest of the terminology will just fall into place. Some things like the iso mounts are Commando only but you'll get used to them. I'm sure there might also be a couple of British to American translation articles on Google. I had to marry a Kiwi to find out a spanner was just a wrench.

Can someone tell me if the rear fender and gas tank are part of a kit that Norton sold seperately? Or is it aftermarket?

Do you have any spares you are willing to sell?
