Newbie question?

I am adding turn signals to my recently purchased '72 Commando. It appears all the wiring, and of course, the switchgear, is already in place.

Does anyone know if the bikes sold new without the turn signal option came with the flasher unit already installed? If not, is there a standard plug for it already in the harness? Or if so, where exactly would that flasher be located (I haven't removed the tank yet)

It's not under the tank (there should be a silver can under the tank but that's the assimilator). The flasher relay would normally be located in a clip attached to the rear of the frame plate to the rear of the battery compartment (close to the, if original, rectifier) where you should find white and light green/brown wire connections for it. I doubt the flasher relay would have been fitted if the flashers were not.
