hi all another newbe have a 1971 commando two thirds restored from ground up will get photos on here soon after i work that bit out thanks for the help already given to me on rebuild thu reading posts it has been invaluble im just about at wiring stage running all tri spark ign coils regulator leads etc with looking at cutting out as many old faults as i can . have owned her 20 years but not going for ages just wondering how some of you have improved you joiners have any of you used dauche plugs any other improvements recomended would be appreciated

might not be spelt right but earthmoving mashines use them they are a rubber lined electrical plug that seals out water and clips together tightly very good plugs used extensively in mining equipment over here

Have recently rewired mine using RGM harness and pulling out all unneccesarey wires but very close norton guru friend says to rewire without joiners so as to eliminate problems and not have major joiner connection under tank.

Plenty of people using modern sealed connectors like Weatherpack/Superseal etc.
On the plug front NGK caps with rubber boots have always kept things running for me in the most torrential rain.
Jiffy splices are nice for the alternator connections, they're waterproof and the pins are slimmer than bullet connectors so go through the primary grommet very easily. Only downside is you need a tool to get them apart. http://www.deutschconnector.com/products/deutsch_jiffy_splice_connectors.html

thanks for staightening that out ive used a lot of you advice on the build so far very helpful thanks

have already got ngk plug caps and leads they look good the old ones used to come off intermittantly these ones look like it will fix that problem very impressed with them
