Interesting idea, though. A 961 in Production Racery livery (yellow of course) would be pretty cool.

What's not to like?

Having lost count of how many side panels I've made in the past, one of the 961s appeals is it neither has or needs them.

Yep I've made one or two side panels over the years
Not the easiest things to make

That's what I was talking about. If I could still ride a bike with clip-ons, I'd be tempted to start a new project to turn my 961 into that bike.

Looking at the engine # only, it is an earlier engine, and most importantly, NOT a Combat. I believe it is a 1971 engine, so the rest of the bike likely is from 71 as well.
This is a good thing!
Looks like a nice machine if you have the back for it.

IIRC discs were optional in 72. But standard on the Combat variant.
