New throttle & choke (air) cables.

My new throttle & choke cables from AN turned up today.

I measured my old ones and found cheaper alternatives at both RGM and the NOC Spares, but went with AN as they had a choice of lengths so I could match my originals - at least for the top sections. The bottom sections have no lengths in the descriptions, but I assumed they'd be right..

The top sections are fine, but the bottoms (the throttle and choke are a slightly different length) are both around 60mm too long.

Ultimately they will work, as the free play is the same length, but ideally I want the same length as original as they just 'fit', and daft as it sounds, needing two for each, is the best part of £60 with the vat, so may have to be a return.

Lengths I'm wanting.

Throttle: 10-1/4" (260mm) Outer, 14-1/4" (360mm) Inner
Choke: 10-3/4" (275mm) Outer, 14-3/4" (375mm) Inner.

RGM have the correct choke (Venhill), but can't locate a lower throttle.

They seem shorter than what I would consider to be the normal lengths which are (approximately):

Throttle outer: 12-1/2"
Choke outer: 13"

Yep, those are the lengths supplied by AN.

My take on that is the ones on mine have been replaced at some point. They looked a spot on fit too.

I don't think it's all that critical if the upper and lower cables are long enough. Personally, I would route the cables over the AV mounts.

Mine are positioned under the spine tube out of harm's way (Other Mk3 owners disregard the Mk3 assimilator's position).
