Any other suggestions? Seems like a heck of a deal.

Made in which hot n sweaty country? And do they have engineering drawings (ha ha) or just copied them on the usual philosophy of " if it looks the same it must work the same".

I'd rather spend that money on having genuine clocks re-built by recognised instrument technicians.

Joel Levine in Atlanta - $150 gets your Smiths looking and working like brand new with one-year warranty.

I have nothing now, so I need something. Can't rebuild what you ain't got.

And I really don't care where it's made. Not like I'm taking jobs from for poor folks at Smiths.

I knew it was too old, that's why I said it was a reference point. Call Nisongers and see if they have any "on the shelf" (that's what I would do) or call Rabers (or another dealer) and ask then what they would do.

And I FULLY understand the end of a project rush, resist it! I have seen far too many restorations crapped on at the last minute.

I crapped from the beginning, no pressure to make it better now...

Especially with everyone here praying I get done, start riding and stop posting.

I've seen the photo's, your bike looks great. If you don't post constantly who will?

You don't scare me!, my Hobot to English translator just came back from the shop (it exploded, nobody knows why).

For some reason, MY Hobot translator (Hobot  english  french) does not work at all, where did you get yours fixed :?:

If Hobot would just say what's he's beating around the bush about and stop trying to make his posts look like Shakespeare's sonnets ( a new line every 7 or 8 words ), I'm sure he has something worthwhile to say in there somewhere.

To un-hijack my own thread, has anyone had any experience with the Steadfast Cycles tachs?

If they are the same repros as sold by other vendors then they are based on a Jap speedo and actually work fine.

If they did they wouldn't hoard them. You'd see them for sale or they'd sell them in bulk to a repair place.

I don't know. I got some used parts from them. Said to just ask for more

ensure that the ratio's are correct for your bike norton and not a one size fits all as triumph etc will be different - unless of course it's merely decoration - then who cares

Pretty sure tachs are simple. All the Brit tachs I'm use to are driven off the cam which is a 4:1 ratio. At least that's the case for Triumph, BSA and Norton.
