Sometimes you can't resist. Even though you know you should. So I bought this lovely "period piece" below. Most of my buddies are encouraging me to perform a mercy killing. A small minority (one actually) wants me to get it running. If I have a plan, it is to use the Norton bits on my other Commando projects, and dispose of the rest of the parts (humanely). The engine is a nice tight 850. The bike is registered as a 1969, with a VIN ending in GS (garage special?) I think the tank is off a BSA, but not sure what model. The bike has twin Mikuni carbs. Is there anybody on this forum who actually runs twin Mikuni's on a Norton Commando? All my web research produced frustrated owners who gave up and went back to Amals or a single Mikuni. Can twin Mikunis really be as bad as all that? I was hoping they might be worth a try.
