I have been reading up on rear shocks. I carry a lot of stuff on trips, camping gear etc. Are the Icon units the best? Who sells them and are their different options?
I am on my second set of rear shocks, they are Hagon with over 20k on them and they are bottoming out with no extra weight on the bike, just my 170 pounds.
I am not really looking for the cheapest unit, something that works well, is adjustable and could possibly be rebuilt too.

Thanks, Mick

Ikon's are a good choice even if they are pricey, some of their offerings have adjustable damping and are available with customer specified spring rates. To get the most out of these shocks your ISOs need to be in good shape; if, like a lot of Norton owners, you are running on original ISOs you could actually be enhancing poor suspension behavior. Ikons are available world wide, but in the US try one of these:

I have had Koni shocks (they are Ikon now) on my Norton for 33 years now, I have just rebuilt them for the first time in the 33 years, they are fully ajustable in the dampers as well the springs, I have done over 120,000 miles on these shocks and have been very happy with the way they perform, I carry a lot of heavy loads as well two up riding, the good thing about Ikons is they are rebuildable, parts are easy to soruce and Ikon are very good to deal with, I brought a new set for my project bike and they look the same as my old Koni shockies, they are not cheap but they work very well and will last for ever, I will be getting a new set for my new Triumph Thruxton very soon.

Comnoz recently recommended Street Trackers by Works Performance to me. Maybe he will chime in?
