New project, 1974 Mk2A

I picked this bike up earlier in the month. been in dry storage for the better part of 20 years. It was in a garden shed in Phoenix for most of that time.
It has less than 30K on the clock which is nice. The tank has issues I will need to deal with it has Kreen in it! But, my neighbor runs a local body shop so that is a great help.

I opened up the timing chest yesterday, replaced the seals and gasket and replaced the points lead wires. Cleaned up the cover and ran the valves. Poured some oil over the intake & exhaust rockers to lube things up. Replaced a missing foot peg pin and all the rubbers.
I am thinking about buying one of those Interstate tanks out of India. Has anyone bought one and what do they think of them? I had read that there were issues with the filler necks on the early ones?

Put some acetone into the tank to remove the Kreem that was in it. It is leaking out pretty quickly. Did a pressure test on the tank with about 20Lbs of air and soapy water, leaks all along the bottom seams.
After I get more of the Kreem out I will use Caswells on the tank. Wonder if my wife would understand my wrapping the tank in an old sleeping bag and putting it into the drier with a handful of dry wall screws? (I will send pictures of the beating I get from doing that)

If you put 20 lbs pressure in your tank you are extremely lucky that it did not blow apart. Usual recommendation is 5 psi max.
