Hi Norton mates!

My name is Bernhard and I am from the Black Forest Germany. I grabbed my 961 Sport direct in Donington in November 2010. There was no Norton dealer in Germany at that time so I went to Egli-Motorcycles in Switzerland for client service. I drove 10k miles on this awesome bike till this day and I hope thousands of pleasant miles will follow.

Cheers

Bernhard

Hello Bernhard , I have a 2014 Sport and picked it up from the dealer in Dec. 2014 . I am happy with my bike also. Have you done any mods to your bike like exhaust system ? I have handlebar risers (1in.) and Norton short/loud Motad muffflers . Now I need to make the seat more comfy. The Norton logo on your leg looks painful.

Your bike sounds great Bernhard.

But it's your leg we are all most interested in...

Please tell us your leg story...!

That leg represents a high level of commitment!
I wear Triumph underwear and sometimes forget to change it as often as I should, but your degree of discomfort for the Brand is much more intense!

Cool tat. Kind of looks like your branding a burn mark from your exhaust pipes.

Hahaha the leg story

First: For me the Norton logo is just fantastic. Second: One day in 2013 I saw some pics from a young Bavarian tattoo artist who specialized himself to stone-look-tattoos. Third: I called him up and sent him the Norton logo. The result is on the picture. Not painful btw.

Before that all: When I saw the first pics of Kenny Dreers 952 Norton I was lost. When I heard about the new 961 Nortons build in England it was my personal target to get one of these awesome bikes as soon as possible. And after hundreds of mails and phone calls with Donington    especially with Chris Walker I picked up my 961 Sport on 24th November 2010. From that day I’m a Norton fan through and through.

Cheers

Bernhard

Pretty much my story too.
The 952 prototype was on display at the IMS in NYC back in 2004.
That's where I fell in love with the design.

Your tat is definitely a Norton accessory that you're not likely to find on another rider.

Cheers

Richard,

Is that a Chevy muffler on the 952?

Love the FCR's on that bike, I wish the 961's came with them instead of the EFI.
The 952 prototype that I saw at the IMS was a dual shocker. I have never seen the mono-shocker before.
Wonder were the airbox would go on the mono-shocker?

Thanks for posting - great pics.

That certainly looks like a car muffler . The bike looks very slim yet muscular especially in its Dreer form . I don't think it had or was designed to have a air box . I have only seen them with clamp on air filters. If you look at the Dreer bikes at the Norton Factory that may tell more . The reason to go to twin shock may be for air box installation alone ...

That's the final Dreer 952 prototype.
Gear shift shaft at bottom of the primary cover, and it had gear driven camshaft.
The 961 changed this, and also included engine covers with better contours and curves.
