Hello all

Great board. Lots of good advice. Have learnt a lot over the last months. Last year I've bought this nice mkIII. Production date 12/74. Engine number 325985. Everything is quite original, still with points. Has matching numbers and the e-start is also working! Bike was imported from the US, so maybe you know something about its previous history.

Hi Marcel, welcome to the forum.

Where in Switzerland are you? I'm in France at the border with Switzerland and work in Basel. The area is brilliant for the Norton, with the Jura, Schwartzwald and Vosges mountains nearby.

Phil.

Hi Marcel
Lovely looking bike.
I was in Switzerland this June on my 850 Roadster. I attended the French Club Triton ralley in St Cerge, near the French border at lake Geneva.
Great roads to ride on but watch out for speed cameras!

I'm from the german speaking part and live near Zurich. Really a great region to go around on a bike.

That's a nice early Mk111 Marcel. I have the impression that the majority of the 1974 and early 1975 production was shipped straight to the U.S. It's quite rare in Europe to see a number lower than 330000.

I assume that your motor number has no -o 850 o- prefix ? Is there an 'F' number stamped on the frame ?

Hi 79x100

Frame Number is 850 F126334. I have to check if there is a 850 prefix on the motor number.

This year the weather in Switzerland is quite bad, so I didn't have the chance to do many passes with the commando.

Greetings
Marcel

I also wanted to say that my commando is about half a year older than me. :D

Greetings
Marcel
