Just wanted to throw this out there. With my 1970 Commando being torn down for repair, I've been collecting various parts to upgrade her. One of the things that always vexed me was the lack of range of the original fiberglass roadster tank. I've had a Fastback tank for some time that I love and wanted to run (still the best looking IMO), but with today's fuels and reports of even the much vaunted Caswell sealer starting to fail, I decided to go Steel.
I emailed Skinandbone customs (http://www.skinandbonecustoms.com) about the availability of a repro interstate tank and got a quick reply that there were three remaining. Ordered on 3/24 and received the tank today (4/1).
Overall I am pleased with the response and product. The tank is good, with some minor rust that I can attribute to a bare steel tank in shipment. Polished on the outer surfaces, and a bit rougher on the underside. Nothing I can't clean up myself in about a half an hour. Now to decide on a color. I think the original Fireflake Red will be to much for a tank is large. Thinking a nice non-flake blue like I did before. Will do some sketches and research before deciding.
They are more a triumph parts company, but I just wanted to give a thumbs up for skinandbone for service.
