Here’s the new Dominator Street.
Has unique features.
Thoughts?

Wonder why they number these Dominators 1-50 and never numbered the Naked in which they only made 35.

The Naked wasn’t supposed to be a Ltd Edition, it just turned out that way!

I can see why people would like the Street.

Best thing about it for me is that 2:1 pipe...

Will it work on a Commando?
I wonder if sporting cornering clearance is an issue on the right side with the pipe?
Looks like they safety wired the spring retaining loops, instead of using springs.

Yes it should, they used it on the Commando Street, but the Dominator rear frame loops, and footrests, etc are required.

It’s a moot point though, I gave up asking when the factory would have some to sell, despite Stuart saying he intended to do so.

I have no idea at all why it exits on the right hand (chain) side. I can only assume its styling reasons.

I reason hope the lock wire is just temporary cos they ran out of springs before the photo shoot!

I would actually prefer exit on the left side away from the chain, so it can hug the frame more closely.
I like the quick removal spring retainers though, especially on the Dominator - gives it the racey look.
I'm waiting on Ollie's 2-into-1.

Couldn’t agree more, left side is a no brainer IMHO!

I kinda suspect the stylists favour the RHS as it’s the primary ‘show side’ when the bikes on the side stand. Could be totally off with this though!

Basically, last time I heard from Ollie on the 2:1 he was working hard to make it work, I’m taking his lack of progress as a sign that it’s perhaps not that straightforward...

Upright bars don’t belong on a Dominator in my opinion. That’s the only thing I don’t like about it.
Oh and also don’t like that it’s not available in the USA

It's a Dominator with Sport bars, California legs and Street pipes... oh and a few large holes in the sprocket cover..... and we never got the Commando 50th anniversary meet as promised. Yes very cynical of the factory but still love my cafe :)

Looks the ‘dogs bollox’ to me! I long to have a Domi sitting in my garage next to the CR. Maybe they could mate and produce a ‘Dommando!’ - up ere for thinking!

Flat bars are looking great as my CR is crippling me! I ride out (3 hours) with the boys every Sunday and have to pop pain pills in order to get back! I’m gonna stick it out for as long as I can and then do the bar conversion. Getting old sucks!

Steve, I lasted a year on my Cafe Racer then I capitulated and had the factory fit Sport bars for me.

Don’t tell anyone I said this, but it absolutely transformed the riding experience! It’s so much more comfortable and easy and enjoyable to ride. It’s safer too as I’ve got better control and better visibility.

And best of all, my finger don’t go numb any more !

Thanks Eddie, that’s good to hear. I am two years (of suffering) in to ownership. I really wanted the full CR look as I love the history of the marque/Cafe Racer scene. The reality is that my body is knackered after years of abuse. I have no doubt that I will enjoy the bike more with the flat bars. Common sense will out, sooner or later!

Steve

I agree.
The CR look is wonderful, but the price paid for the look gets higher as the owner ages.

I'm also thinking of switching from the full CR look to something more manageable, like ABM clip-ons.
You get most of the Cafe look but with a wider and 2" higher grip.
That should keep me happy for a few more years.

Or until I'm riding one of these.

Mmm....so the exhaust doesn't have to conform to euro 5 restrictions due to SVA homologation...does that mean the same for the Superlight with the titanium 2:1 pipe...? Can't get more 'limited production' than none eh Nigel....? And just imagine explainin to the police that the noise is legal....
